English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)
What is ELAC?
By California state law, every school with more that 21 English Learners must form an English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC). The purpose of the ELAC is to advise the principal and school staff on programs and services for English learners.
The English Learner Advisory Committee is an important committee that gives input and makes recommendations regarding the program we provide for our students who are English Learners. The committee members monitor student progress through test and attendance data. They make recommendations about the use of English learner funds. Parents of English learners are encouraged to join the committee, but all parents are welcome. Suggestions for educational issues and/or discussions are welcome. Please call Cindy Mark, ELST 619-362-4400.
