At Kimbrough Elementary School, our programs for English Learners promote:
- Increased opportunities for English language development over time.
- A school wide community of learners in which all students and teachers work and learn together.
Sheltered English Instruction (SEI)
Instruction is in English using SDAIE strategies to insure access to all grade level content areas.
Spanish support will be used to assist student learning at the beginning levels.
Students will be deployed for English language development (ELD) daily based on English language level/need.
Throughout the school year the regular classroom will have students with mixed levels of English language levels to provide models during the instructional day and the greatest opportunity to practice language skills with other students.
