Kimbrough offers Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI) to general education students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade who are eligible for Special Education services. We service children who are intellectually disabled, speech- and language-impaired, emotionally-disturbed, learning-disabled, and children with autism. SAI is delivered to these students through push-in and pull-out small group models for individualized instruction, modification and support. Services are based on Individualized Education Plans (IEP's) developed by a team of parents, general education teachers, service providers, and administrators.
Kimbrough's special education staff consists of two Resource Specialist, a Speech Language Pathologist, a Bilingual School Psychologist, a Special Education Tech, two bilingual Special Education Assistants, one day a week Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and Adaptive PE teacher.
